Lime Build · Private beta

Building is fast now. Knowing what to build isn't.

Lime Build asks the questions you'd skip, then takes your idea from first thought to build spec, for your team or your coding agent.

Most ideas don't die in the build. They die before it.

Problem

A fuzzy scope. A missing edge case. A decision nobody made. Coding agents build fast, but they build exactly what you tell them, gaps included.

Solution

Lime Build works on the part before the build. It asks until your idea is clear, then writes it down so nothing gets lost between your head and the builder.

How it works

From rough idea to build spec.

  1. Start with what you have.

Type it, paste it, or upload docs and images.

  2. Answer what matters.

It walks you through the idea, the problem and the scope, including what happens when things go wrong. Skip anything; it still writes its best version.

  3. Say when.

It offers to write and waits for your yes. Each document appears section by section, checked before you see it.

  4. Take it to your builder.

Export as PDF, Word or Markdown, share a read-only link, or hand your coding agent a build spec.

Who it's for

Built for whoever owns the idea.

  • PMs and product owners.

The idea is in your head. The time to structure it isn't. Get docs your team can follow.

  • Founders and solo builders.

No PM? Lime Build does the PM's thinking with you.

  • Developers.

Skip the beginning and you build the wrong thing. Get the problem, the user and the edge cases before you write a line.

  • Product designers.

Your interaction logic never makes it into the spec. Now it has a place to go.

Features

Everything between the idea and the build.

  • Questions before it writes

Other tools draft first and fix later. Lime Build asks first, so the document starts from clear thinking.

  • Nine outputs, idea to build

    1. Idea assessment: your idea scored on 7 criteria, with a verdict
    2. Problem definition: the problem, before any solution
    3. One-pager: the short version that gets people on board
    4. PRD: for a product, a feature, or an early exploration, with flow and sitemap diagrams
    5. Requirements table: every requirement in one place
    6. User stories: grouped into epics, with acceptance criteria and story points
    7. Design spec: a brief for designers, or a design.md for AI design tools
    8. Build spec: a Markdown pack for coding agents, with context and ordered tasks
    9. Test cases: happy paths, edge cases and error states
  • Ready for coding agents

The build spec is Markdown that tools like Claude Code and Cursor can read, with a context file plus ordered tasks, each with an acceptance check.

  • Edit, export, share

Edit anything inline. Export as PDF, Word or Markdown. Share a read-only link, and switch it off whenever you want.

Free during beta.

Lime Build is invite only while we shape it with early users. Beta gets everything, with no limits on chats or outputs. Invites go out in the order people join.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

They start by writing. Lime Build starts by asking. And it doesn't stop at the PRD: it takes you all the way to a build spec and test cases.

No. You need an idea. Lime Build asks the technical questions with you.

The build spec is Markdown those tools can read. There's no direct connection yet; you hand the spec over yourself.

You can share any document as a read-only link. Team workspaces aren't part of the beta.

Nothing during beta. Paid plans come after, and beta users get a discount on their first month.

Invites go out in the order people join. Have an invite code? Use it and you're in straight away.

Your ideas and documents are stored in the EU. AI processing runs through Anthropic's API, which doesn't train on your data by default. We don't train AI models on your work either. During beta, we review real projects to improve how Lime Build asks and writes. That's part of what beta is. Your work is never shown to other users or made public unless you share a link yourself. Prefer we skip a project? Email hello@limelab.app. You can delete chats, documents, projects or your whole account from Settings.

Most ideas never ship. Yours can.
